Angel Carers Launches New Approach to Wellbeing with VERA Environment
Angel Carers has launched an exciting new wellbeing concept in Bridport, bringing together care, sound, vibration, design and community connection in a purpose-designed environment.
Based at our South Street offices, the new VERA Environment has been created to explore how carefully designed spaces can support wellbeing, relaxation, focus, resilience and human connection. VERA stands for Vital Environment Regulation and Assurance, and forms part of Angel Carers’ wider vision to support both our care team and the local community in new and meaningful ways.
At the heart of the concept is the belief that environment plays a powerful role in how people feel, perform, connect and recover. The space includes an immersive vibroacoustic floor, which combines sound with gentle physical vibration, alongside ambient sound, sensory lighting, architectural design and natural elements.
Together, these features create a calming and restorative experience for staff, visitors and members of the wider community.
Director Clare Park said:
“I believe the environment we work in shapes how we feel, how we perform and ultimately the care we provide. Care is delivered through people. If we want great care, we need to look after the people delivering it.”
She added:
“VERA is our way of investing in our team while exploring how thoughtfully designed environments can support wellbeing, focus and resilience.”
The project has been a significant investment by Directors Clare Park and Fiona Rowe, who have transformed Angel Carers’ new offices into a space that brings care, wellbeing and community engagement together under one roof.
Fiona said:
“Looking after people has always been at the heart of what we do. If we can create an environment that supports our staff and benefits the wider community, then everybody gains.”
The VERA Environment will be used to test ideas, gather feedback and explore what is possible when sound, vibration, design and human-centred environments work together. The space will also support dementia support hubs, stroke support groups, learning disability forums, wellbeing events and educational sessions.
Clare said the feedback so far has been incredibly positive:
“People walk in and immediately notice how different it feels. There is a sense of calm, warmth and intention that is difficult to describe until you experience it.”
The vision is to create environments where people can pause, reconnect, learn, recover, socialise and experience wellbeing in a completely new way.
Angel Carers provides domiciliary care throughout Bridport, Beaminster, Lyme Regis and the surrounding villages, alongside 24-hour live-in care across the South.
Looking ahead, the team hopes VERA will be the beginning of a wider movement in environment-led care and wellbeing.
Clare said:
“We believe environment will play an increasingly important role in supporting wellbeing, community connection and quality of life, and we intend to be at the forefront of that movement.”
Angel Carers will be holding an event to experience the VERA Environment in mid to end of July.
