Vital Environment Regulation and Assurance
A calm space… For better care...
At Angel Carers, we believe the future of care is shaped not only by the services we deliver, but also by the environments we create for the people giving and receiving care.
VERA – Vital Environment Regulation and Assurance – is our dedicated wellbeing sensory space, designed to support calm, regulation, focus, and recovery for our team, clients, and the wider community.
This carefully created environment brings together soft lighting, natural elements and architecture, calming design, sensory regulation, vibro-acoustic floor technology, and a quiet, reflective space to help people pause, reset, and feel supported.
Why VERA?
Care is human work, but it is also demanding. It requires emotional strength, focus, patience and compassion.
VERA has been developed to support the people behind care – creating a calm, intentional space where staff, clients and visitors can take a moment to breathe, reset and experience how the environment can influence wellbeing.
This is part of our wider commitment to improving care outcomes by supporting not only what we do, but how people feel within the spaces where care, training and support take place.
Why This Has Been Developed
Within care, operational demands are often prioritised – visits, schedules and delivery – while the role of the working environment can be overlooked, especially in supporting:
- How people feel within their role
- How effectively they perform
- Their ability to maintain wellbeing and resilience within a demanding profession
At Angel Carers, we believe the environment matters. The spaces people work in, return to and receive support from can influence how they feel, how they focus and how supported they are within their role.
VERA has been developed to begin addressing this in a structured and professional way. It has been designed to support a sense of calm and stability, provide a more considered working environment, and reflect the standards and values of Angel Carers as an organisation.
Pause. Reset. Support.
Pause
A space to step away from pressure, noise and constant demand.
Reset
A calm environment designed to support relaxation, sensory regulation and nervous system settling.
Support
A dedicated wellbeing space for our team, clients and community – helping people feel calmer, safer and more supported.
A Sensory Environment Designed With Care
VERA has been carefully shaped to create a professional, calming and supportive experience.
The space includes:
- Gentle ambient lighting
- Soft sensory design
- A vibro-acoustic floor experience
- Calm architectural flow
- Quiet reflective space
- A peaceful setting for regulation and wellbeing
- A professional environment for care, training and support
Every element has been considered with one purpose in mind: to help people feel more settled, supported and able to function at their best.
The Research Behind VERA
VERA has been developed as a research-informed wellbeing environment, shaped by understanding around sensory regulation, environmental design and vibroacoustic therapy.
At the centre of the space is a gentle vibro-acoustic floor experience, using low-frequency sound vibration that can be heard and felt throughout the body. This creates an immersive sensory experience designed to support relaxation, grounding and regulation.
Research and practice in this field explore how low-frequency sound and vibration may support the body’s natural rest-and-recovery response, helping to create a greater sense of calm, reduce feelings of stress and support a more settled state of mind.
Combined with soft lighting, calming sound, natural design features and a carefully considered layout, VERA is more than a quiet room. It is a thoughtfully designed wellbeing environment created to help people pause, reset and feel supported.
Supporting Better Care Outcomes
We know that people deliver their best care when they feel supported themselves.
VERA reflects our belief that the working environment matters. A calmer, more considered space can support staff wellbeing, improve focus, encourage reflection and create a better experience for everyone connected to care.
For clients and families, VERA also represents the standard we are building towards – care that is thoughtful, human, innovative and deeply respectful of people’s wellbeing.
Experience VERA
VERA is designed to be experienced as much as explained.
As part of our Angel Carers Open Day on 27th May in Bridport, visitors, care professionals, clients, families and community partners will have the opportunity to explore the VERA Wellbeing Sensory Space and learn more about how this environment supports calm, regulation and wellbeing.
A dedicated Care Workers Evening will also take place from 7pm to 9pm, offering care workers and care professionals the chance to visit the space and see how Angel Carers is investing in the future of care.
You don’t just hear it. You feel it.
